What is CURRENT? Current is a body of believers who have come together to be a part of what God is doing now in His church. We are a church.
What is a church? Church is not a building, denomination, or institution. It is a living breathing organism. The bible calls the church “Christ’s Body”. Christ is alive, so His body has to be alive. A church in this sense is comprised of people from every background imaginable, of every ethnic origin, and of all ages. These people are on a journey with God. A church is a place of restoration and vital connection. We are all working in what is pleasing to God and working out the junk. Church is not a stagnant place. It is a place where God heals us, restores us and gives us vision for our lives in His presence. It is a place of love and grace, truth and life.
Why CURRENT? We just thought it sounded cool.
No really, CURRENT reflects the vision we see in how God desires to move in our lives.
Now-CURRENT: We see God involved in our lives on a daily level. We see God giving us perspective on our life now. His word is fresh and life giving. His Holy Spirit is ever present to help and empower us. As a result, we become more aware of who we are now at this moment.
Flow-CURRENT: We see our lives moving in a particular direction. As we are actively engaged in walking with God, we begin to see the flow of life with Jesus showing us the way. This flow is God’s grace and truth guiding us and transforming us to be more and more like Christ.
Power- CURRENT: We are living in today, and seeing the future more clearly. Our faith is getting legs. Power current is the Holy Spirit’s anointing in our lives. It sustains us in the valleys and mountaintops. It also flows through us into other people’s lives. We have a commission to walk in the power current of the Holy Spirit to do the works of Jesus, to bring the miracle working power that has been given to us to others.
